The Central-Kentucky News Journal has an article by James Roberts, about Taylor County bringing in more tourism. Even while genealogy research on the internet may remove some incentives for traveling to various areas to do local genealogy research, interest in genealogy is rising, and towns and counties are starting to realize just how beneficial it can be to tourism.

There is an interesting article by John Andrew Prime in The Shreveport Times (LA) about an unsolved murder mystery, and how fast information started pouring in from genealogists and others looking to help Dale Nicholson solve the mystery surrounding his grandfather. Dale is hoping to find his grave, so that his mother can place a tombstone on the grave.

Scottish Pupils Given Genealogy Project

The Scotsman is reporting that students at seven schools across Scotland are being assigned a genealogy project that will give them “unrivalled access” to www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, the official government genealogy website.
