Speaking of usenet, I came across a thread discussing, Linkpendium.com, a site that claims they have over two million genealogy links (yes, I said two million).

– a usenet group devoted to computers and genealogy (usenet is not moderated, so you might see some harsh language).

WikiTree, “The Family Tree of Humankind”

The WikiTree is shaping up to be an interesting project. I’m probably mischaracterizing it when I say it’s a group project to unite various family trees that genealogists have researched.

CastleGarden.org Now Open (Aug 1st)

CastleGarden.org launched today. Castle Garden was America’s first immigration center, operating between 1830 and 1892 (when Ellis Island opened up).
